Christmas Raffle 2018

16/12/2018

We had a fantastic day on Friday 14th December for the annual Killina National School Christmas raffle. Mrs. Noonan's superstars started off the event with a fantastic rendition of Winter Wonderland on the tin whistle. Ms. Dalton led the 3rd-6th class boys and girls with singing Winter Wonderland too. This then led to the first of our two raffles. Our wonderful Parent Association put so much effort into ensuring the success of this raffle and it certainly paid off.

Fíona took over as MC for the raffle with Gerry, Kevin and Margaret ensuring that everything ran smoothly. The winners for the main raffle were:
  • 1st Prize: Voucher (Value €300)- Eoghan Mulvey
  • 2nd Prize: Voucher (Value €200)- Cillian Noonan
  • 3rd Prize: Drinks Hamper (Value €150)-Derek Murray
  • 4th Prize: Beauty Hamper (Value €75) -James O’Rourke
  • 5th Prize: Turkey and Ham – Tom Nolan
  • 6th Prize: Toy Voucher (€50) – Ruby Gill
  • 7th Prize: Bottle of Brandy – Margaret McCormack
  • 8th Prize: Turkey – Leon O’Meara
  • 9th Prize: Ham – Carmel Percival
  • 10th Prize: Bottle of Whiskey – Cathal Cumiskey
Once this raffle was completed we then went into our cloakroom ticket raffle. This raffle was generously sponsored by our wonderful parents and many local businesses (click here for our list of sponsors). The prizes were absolutely super and there really was a great sense of community spirit surrounding it. We were extremely grateful to our kind parents and the local shops and companies that gave us a huge range of spot prizes. There were over 30 prizes (hampers, vouchers, sweets, biscuits, candles etc...) and we made lots of children and families happy as a result. This really was a successful raffle and the children of our school will benefit greatly from this wonderful fundraiser. We are very thankful to our staff, parents, the boys and girls, local businesses and the fantastic Parents Association who went above and beyond to ensure that this was a success. Well done everyone and many thanks for making this another exciting event in our school calendar.
